Social Media Is A Curious Place
Apr 08, 2025
🌎 My Relationship with Social Media Changed
At one point, I deactivated all my accounts. I needed space from the noise and doomscrolling.
I’ve always considered myself a private person—so sharing publicly never felt natural. But when I started my business, I felt a pull to show up more.
Not to “market”—but to share. To speak from the heart. To offer parts of my journey in the hope they might be useful to others.
It pushed me way outside my comfort zone—especially when I began sharing more vulnerable stories.
Some mornings I’d wake up at 4am, sharply wondering how something had landed.
“Was I misunderstood? Judged? Or worse… completely ignored?”

👿 Facing Doubts
I used to feel uncertain about how these posts landed.
Some get a handful of likes. A few receive the odd comment. I catch myself thinking:
“Do people even see these? Is it too much? Did I get shadow-banned for liking the ‘wrong’ post?”
But then—out of the blue—I started receiving private messages from people I didn’t know, or hadn’t spoken to in years.
They tell me how something I shared resonated. That it helped. That it made them feel less alone.
It’s humbling. It’s heartwarming. It gives me the energy to keep showing up.

🌟 The Only Like That Matters
A mentor once told me:
“The ONLY person who needs to like your post is YOU before you post it.” - Peter Sage
That line stuck with me.
My posts are about the message, not me. They’re reminders of what I’ve learned through experience.
I’ve come to trust that those who resonate will find their way to me. Most never like a post—and that’s okay.

💫 The Magic of Reconnection
Something beautiful started happening. People from my past began seeing me differently.
Recently, Chay—one of my oldest childhood friends—reached out after reading one of my posts.
We hadn’t been in contact for 30 years. We just met in Mexico for an epic reunion.
It was incredible to share life stories, personal realizations, and discover how our paths had mirrored each other—without knowing. Until I hit “post.”
